Having revisited the 2025 return of UR Podcast with Urban Gym, it won’t be too long until season three rolls around.
Today saw the band back together, coffees and croissants in tow, to tuck into the first four episodes of the new season.
The setup for season three follows that of season two, Urban Gym owner and head coach Andy Murphy and I navigating a set topic each episode, from a coach’s point of view.

While last season covered training through injury and pregnancy to preparing for HYROX-style events, grief and more, this season looks at returning to training after layoffs, nutrition, going beyond results, and training through chronic health conditions, to summarise some of the eight episodes for season three.
We’ve been prepping for the past few weeks for the return, and while there may not be a cemented release date yet, in film terms, we’ve already ‘greenlit’ season four, which will release later this year.

For season three, we’re also shifting the release schedule from fortnightly to weekly with the first in the eight-episode arc due to release on all platforms on Monday, 2 February, the first bank holiday of the year in Ireland.
How is it recorded?
For audio, the setup for the current season is
- Two Rode Podmics on boom arms
- Audio captured on Rodecaster Pro (original version), recorded to SD card
- Rodecaster connected to MacBook Air M3 running Adobe Audition 2025, with a session capturing two mic channels and mix channel, all in 48K, 24-bit
- L/R outs from Rodecaster connected to Zoom H4N for backup recording
- Headphone feed from Rodecaster sent to LD Systems MEI 100 G2 wireless transmitter for monitoring (one pack for me, one available for camera audio)
You’ll find Kevin Saunders behind the camera, shooting wide on a Canon 5D, the 4K capability allowing for a clean image when cropped for social edits.
